Wall Inspiration
I was inspired by Piano and Rogers' Pompidou Centre in Paris as well as Libeskind's Jewish Museum in SF. I really liked the Pompidou Centre's balance of skeletal versus mass and the many layers of the building. But what really drew me to the building was the flow of the building. At first glance, visually, this seemed a little crazy but it seemed to flow. The building, itself, seemed to manifest the idea of community and interaction.
I was also inspired by Libeskind's Jewish Museum in San Francisco. I loved how shapes of the same order but different position interacted with each other.
Both these buildings created something that seemed that seemed...chaotic with a purpose (this description does them no justice and I mean no insult). And they played with their ideas. Libeskind played with the idea of how we interact with space and with shapes. Piano and Rogers played with the idea of a museum and how a museum should relate to its city/environment.
