Final Project
My goal for this chapel was to draw attention to the surrounding environment. I tried to achieve this by emphasizing a zen view of the ocean, providing large windows in every room, and sloping the roof as a reference to the slope of the site. Slits in the roof provide expressive light that changes throughout the day, and guides the eye of chapel-goers towards the speaker and the zen view. The aspect of this project that I am most pleased with is the craftsmanship, especially on the 1/4" scale model.
