This is a sort of repetition in the roof thats in our own back yard. While the repetition is not on one roof, it shows how neat it can be to have a pattern for a series of buildings. Stanford takes great pride in their roofs and requires that new roofs be more or less red. Apparently, the story is that the roofs need to be red so that the Stanford family can see Stanford from the heavens.

If you haven't yet been up Hoover Tower its definitely something to do! Its a gorgeous view of the campus architecture.
